At this stage, I would give the guy some credit and trust him not to mess with the cash cows - until evidence starts proving otherwise.
the warning is IMO much more serious than any analyst-du-jour's warning.
I also was an unfortunate Lucent investor just before Fiorina came in and f***d up the company cash cows by shifting resources into that dot coms nonsense. Now, Fiorina was rewarded by moving to HP (and screwing it again), while my Lucent shares went from $55 to $0.9.
So when somebody knowledgeable talks about f***g up the cash cows I know what it means. And my Lucent position was just a far cry in relation to my INTC position.
So the only question I have is WHEN to pull the trigger: $33? $34? $35?
