It is one thing to fix 'competitiveness gaps' in mobile. It is hard for it to go anywhere but up. The guy is a phone chip guy so go for it. But this guy knows noting about x86, PCs, or servers.

By mobile, if you include Atoms for low-end PCs, I agree with you. The transition to Goldmont cores has been painfully slow.


But this guy knows noting about x86, PCs, or servers. Intel has absolutely no competitiveness problems there. He could only do harm IMO if he doesn't leave that stuff well enough alone. That is my huge fear for INTC, he f***s with the cash cows.

It would be in his self interest not to muck around with Core, Xeon, etc. At this stage, I would give the guy some credit and trust him not to mess with the cash cows - until evidence starts proving otherwise.
