I will tell you a story of a Chinese Energy company I owned probably a good 12 years ago. It was ticker CESV, and the balance sheet was impeccable. The stock value was so low I couldn't believe it. I bought it up and it popped big time. I sold and intended to come back to it. Turns out the whole company was a fraud, phony balance sheet and all.....and the worst thing ever happened, more than taking a loss on a stock. The company ceased to trade. Done. No loss on your shares for tax purposes, no nothing. You couldn't sell your shares because there was nothing to sell. Not saying this is the case here but I was blown away that something like that could actually occur.
