Dan88, I understand your frustration. If all accounts of your stock and call options buys are accurate, you have lost a shipload of money.
With regard to your comments about claims that the company was unaware of any reason for the decline in the stock, keep in mind that the company execs making the statements may well been blinded to the trial data under review at the time.
There are claims that the CRO was hacked by shorts who accessed a confidential trial protocol. It is my opinion they may have similarly accessed efficacy information through other avenues, DMC, principal investigator files, clinics, etc.
In summary, it could have happened separate to the statements made by LP and NW about not being aware of anything untoward. Their statements may have been accurate to the best of their knowledge at the time. One doesn't disprove the possibility of the other.
