Unixguy, I wasn't sure at first who you meant by "The Oracle" since virtually no IHUBers follow him or other respected students of Mister Market. Actually I'm more a fan of his partner Charlie Munger who is the market philosopher while Buffett is more of a conventional businessman. Yes, I mod IHUB's two Berkshire Hathaway boards which I often use to bookmark their priceless observations. Sometimes others read and post on those IHUB boards as well... but not often. Note that I DON'T own BRK stock.

Over many decades the Two Oracles have publicly set out their investing rules and have discussed red flags they look to avoid. The result is that anyone who wants to invest like "A Buffett" can do so (or simply buy BRK). A recent 40-page article on Yale.edu breaks down "The Buffett Method" especially nicely.

Wave Systems was never a "Buffett-type stock" for just about every possible reason. From Wave's very beginning it was festooned with more red flags than an old May Day parade in Moscow. I never considered buying it either. Instead, WAVX was a typical cult, and those are the most interesting investments of all and always among the least profitable. And sometimes deadly.
