SooS416. I totally disagree - I guess you haven't watched the 2 x POW Folio videos where the concept is explained.
1.There are not just REDG comics on POW Folio - it is a platform for any comic publisher who wishes to use it.
2. Many publishers have already signed up for it.
3. Marvel & DC - according to another poster who has looked into it - are under a remit to get sales by all possible means - including on apps provided by others. Apparently both companies nearly went bankrupt in the past by trying to be exclusive with the distribution of their content.
4. REDG gets revenue from POW Folio in 5 ways:
a. Ads that appear as a page periodically when scrolling through the streaming comic in the free version - REDG sources these advertisers.
b. Higher rate returns from video ads in the free version that REDG doesn't have to source because they come via links to pre-existing ad networks - as used by You Tube, cable news network companies with on-line content etc.
c. Monthly subscriptions from those that want to use the POW Folio app ad free.
d. Sales of REDG and other publishers' hard copy comics purchased on amazon.com using links clicked in POW Folio.
e. amazon.com affiliate seller fees (typically 10%) from other sales offered as options when following a link clicked on POW Folio. For instance, click to view a hard copy comic on amazon.com but buy a video game suggested instead of or as well.
5. The content on POW Folio is streamed rather than being downloaded and stored on the mobile device - including the ability to go directly to a bookmark to continue scrolling from part way through.
6. High quality definition even on cellular connection.
