teecee wholeheartliy, that is where my comment about conveniently, hitting both ends comes from. People establish that credibility when they tell the whole story...not just the good part.....I guess to each his own...we might be down from our highs today but I only have one "green" stock on the ticker...hope all is well up north
I am not here to defend Jim, he can do that for himself if he wishes...but I do have a couple of thoughts. Jim is a generally proven to be a good technician. I have found his top and bottom calls pretty accurate. He has perhaps not indicated his entry points as deliberately as his exit points ... and to that end I understand to some degree the angst by some on this board. He has been very forthright about being a trader. I believe it is to our benefit to have a trader posting on the board as I believe that information may be useful in helping some understand momentary weakness. His technical skills has the potential to help us understand and confirm the short term trading patterns of the stock. I personally follow TA as it helps me identify entry points, it sometimes explains weakness and strength void of pertinent news...which in turn helps me minimize emotional over reaction to short term moves.
Example ... the recent weakness when we traded down to the 21's ...I bought .....5 years ago I might have sold on the weakness or had a stop loss order in. as I believe some did.
TA is a valuable tool for buying when using fundamentals as the basis for investing.
I still have a problem understanding why it is difficult for some to develop a higher level of tolerance and respect for other board members with differing investment styles and objectives. The testosterone level while at times is humorous can sometimes seriously detract from the true benefit the board has to offer.....back to lurking.
alley.....like i said uneven reccomendations....ON THE SIDE THAT COUNTS!!!...i have no problems w/ traders....especially those whose JOB it is to do so
