Talk about making no sense. They can license to who ever might be interested in building batteries to include Tesla. The Tesla plant is built to build all types of batteries I am sure they can retrofit to prevent obsolescence.
As for Shorai who knows. They might be able to use them to start the new battery line up who knows shorai might have already agreed to use this new battery.
