I've personally known several people -- all fairly prosperous -- who quit jobs to trade full time. They always go back to work with the next bear market. To me, the term "stock trader" just means "out of work." "Trader" sounds so much better than the truth. Wives strongly prefer that term when asked what hubby does for a living.

Most are lying. And some trade so frequently that they have no idea how they're doing... until the funds are gone.

I know a lot about SPY. I've owned it for years, never sold. Yes, I'm familiar with that board. Most of those "successful" traders disappear in a few years. IHUB is loaded with players with serious gambling problems.

My stocks are getting killed lately. but my extensive holdings in quality corp and muni bonds are doing very well. Rising. All my stocks pay dividends too, and those are mostly rising even in 2016.

If we go into recession, Sears is a goner sooner than anyone expected. The end is getting very near.
