Ok, I'll give you something easy to try and then I'll leave you alone.

On the bottom of the screen there is a "task bar". On the right hand side of the task bar there should be an icon that looks like one of the following.....

CONNECTED

OR

NOT CONNECTED

Do you see the icon? Which one is showing?

and I tried to process each one and couldn't. Instructions are written for you ordinary geniuses, originating in Katmandu, translated to Chinese and then to some forgotten language before English.
