All good things must come to an end. Hell of a run for Apple stockholders, amazing creation of value industry wide. The smartphone revolution that Apple gave birth to helped to drive substantial growth at many semiconductor and other component vendors, making many investors very rich along the way and creating a lot of high-skill hardware and software jobs.
Such things do not happen often in the industry, and I do think it will be a long time before we see the next "big" thing. Smart Watches, VR goggles, and self-driving cars will probably not be it.
