If Vytorin was Granowitz's "baby", the failure of IMPROVE-IT may have tainted his rep at Merck to the point where he started looking for greener pastures. Have seen this happen myself in high profile program failures at my old job.
P.S. Quitcher bitchin about not being able to play golf because it's raining - I have over 2 ft of snow trapping me inside my house with another 6"-8" still to come, and now the wind has picked up, causing drifting - I hate waiting for the snow to end before shoveling, will make the work even harder (if I'm even physically able to do it), but also don't want to waste the effort of shoveling only to see drifts cover the cleared areas back over. I'll be lucky if I can escape my neighborhood by Monday at the earliest - this is a true weather disaster up here! Still have to figure out how to get to the shovels stacked right outside my deck door - there's 3 ft of snow piled against the door - opening it will fill my dining room with snow, and not sure I could safely make it from the front door around to the side deck :>( I need snowshoes! Hmmm....maybe I could fashion some makeshift ones in my shop? Have no idea how to make them though.....might be able to make some from cardboard and duct tape:
