Couldn't it be that Menon simply agreed it was co-developed? Why does there have to be fault? CTIX ran with developing the drug then out comes a claim that half of it should belong to someone else. Menon, the one who worked on it with the other entity agreed and took responsibility or "shared the rights" by transferring half of his shares to the other party - new shares of CTIX were not issued for this. Litigation was avoided because of the humble nature of Menon as half of his shares is a very large sum of money. IMO it didn't have to do with how big his heart was, but it had everything to do with doing the right thing. We don't know what happened behind the scenes, but yes, there had to be some strong evidence supporting their claim, but Menon still could have tried to fight it. The fact that it occurred so quickly and the fact Menon gave half of his personal shares speaks volumes to me about his strong character. Menon and Leo could have easily come up with a reason to put this on the backs of the shareholders and issue new shares to "pay" for this but they didn't! Menon took responsibility and took the hit instead.
