You bring up some good points. I don't have answers, but you bring up questions that all of us should be researching as investors.

My dad has a business license in Alabama but he operates out of several different states and countries even with that license. He has to report all of his dealings to Alabama. The only thing is is sometimes required to do is pay taxes in those states that he made money in. He has never been required to file a business license with any other state than Alabama.
