Hard to believe Gee was the Mets opening day starter last year. Just goes to show how much movement there is on MLB rosters throughout the year...especially on the mound.

Dillon Gee!!! Well, the Royals signed Ryan Madson and Curt Young to one year contracts last year for under a million a piece, and found gold. Maybe Gee will be the same. Well, maybe they can hope fore silver. Heck, I'd take bronze. Anyway, we need lots of cheap arms in hopes that we find quality in one of them. Then, if KC is in position to fight for a playoff berth, we pick up one or two decent ones late in the year.

Maybe the Royals will go after the other former Met thrower, Kazmir. I'd luv him at the right price and years for KC. Unfortunately, I think both mine and the Royals price will be too low.

Right now you got Volquez, Ventura, Duffy, Medlen, Young, Vargas, Gee, and maybe a minor leaguer as possible starters.....and I'm not even sure if Vargas is ok to pitch. Although I dont really like Vargas as a starter anyways.

best.

Not what Mets fans want to hear.

Yoenis Cespedes still outside Mets' price range

The Mets still have a hole in their outfield, but they are not going to a burn a hole in their pocket to fill it.

Despite newfound money due to the retirement on Michael Cuddyer and not having to spend $56 million for Ben Zobrist, the Mets are not interested in Yoenis Cespedes and other expensive outfield bats — at least at the current asking price.

While there is not much hot-stove buzz surrounding Cespedes, who carried the Mets to the division title, hitting 17 homers in 57 games after coming to Queens at the July 31 trade deadline, industry sources said the 30-year-old outfielder is looking for a deal in the neighborhood of six years at around $120 million. That is not the kind of neighborhood the Mets are interested in.
