There is a fine balance there. For instance, IDC can negotiate directly with institutions and get a good price not affecting the auction market at all. But as investors we want them to get a good price but also to support "investor values" and therefore not to let scavengers, muckers, and conniving short sellers affect the share values drastically. There are a lot of these people acting in concert and it only takes a few sells done at the right time to bring the price down.
At the very least, I think investors should be able to get as good a share price as the insiders who sold, don't you?
