I may have confused AF's treatment of 2-73 with 3-71 in this statement from a previous post:

AF cried foul about the presenting of A2-73 epilepsy preclinical findings again, and some here were questioning it.

As it relates to your statement:

"Continuing, Feuerstein chides Anavex's recent announcement regarding 3-71, labeling it a "repeat." No, it's not a repeat. A repeat would be a press release citing the same 2014 results, which were based on a poster presentation at the AAIC [6]. The new results that were announced recently, which were deemed fit to publish in a major, peer reviewed scientific journal, were just that-new results. Yes, the same compound is the topic, but it included remarkable, new data, including the observation of reversal of synaptic loss in hippocampal neurons [7, 8]."

How is the use of AF710B vs 3-71 determined? Is it normal for the scientist to continue using his naming after the compound is bought and renamed by the company? I have always thought when I saw it as AF710B that that was work that was done before Anavex acquired it, in March 2012 I believe. Can you shed any light on that and/or determine when this newer study was done?
