My thought in reading that part was that he was responding to his investor inquiries. Surely they are following the companies he's investing their money in and has to explain all the negativity surrounding this company.
While I suspect we'll see a number of possibilities, both positive and negative commented on today, it's most probable we'll see the share price get hit today - usually a negative initial market reaction to any letter involving the possibility of any financial issues regardless of whether or not there is any validity to them.
And for those who present the argument that the company is shielded from independent auditing/qualified CFO will now be put to rest.
As a shareholder I agree with this update, I would argue that most of the investing community would agree with this move.
I can only imagine what is going on behind the scenes, but it would appear that the direction is forward, with a independent board member with a spectacular financial background, and upward.
