There was never going to be a rate hike. Just lots of talk. If it wasn't the plane being shot down then they would have come up with something else to blame it on

Folks, you can't keep being fooled by the talk of rate hikes. It is not happening. Period. They may do a fractional hike (as in a few bps) but the idea that the fed can just raise rates is beyond silly. They can't and they won't. I bet by next December we are at today's rates or MAYBE a few nominal bps higher. Very possible they raise a few bps in March only to unwind and repulsive the lever before the elections in the fall.
