I don't believe it's an "analyst take"; I believe it's PR from JAMN.

Has anyone seen this?? an analyst take on marley coffee..

They've posted the same type of stuff before; the last one was from a "company" called InvestorPro. When you went to the InvestorPro site, they had a lot of vague information and a company photo that turned out to be a stock image. The InvestorPro site is now down, but had an analysis that was extremely similar to this one.

If you go to this company's site

http://www.ba-research.co/

They say that they have been in business since 2008; they link to their Twitter page where they have exactly one tweet - about JAMN. I would think that a well-connected investment advisory company would tweet a little more than that.

If you do a "whois" search, you'll find that the domain was registered on October 4, 2015 - so an important financial analysis company since 2008, one that deals with major financial institutions, decided to create its Web page 1 month ago, put out one piece of analysis, and registered their domain with Godaddy, but used a proxy service to do the registration (so nobody would see who actually registered the domain).

Notice that their domain is ".co" - that's the domain for Columbia. They had to do that, though, because this domain

www.ba-research.com

is registered to Bridgestone tires.

So I went back to the Web page of that "analyst" site and noticed a couple of things. First the address:

200 East 69th Street New York, NY 10021

That's Trump Palace on the Upper East Side. It's an apartment building, not an office building.

If you go to the "Contact Us" page and hover over the link to follow them on Twitter, you'll see that the linked Twitter feed is "@Wix" - their hosting site for their Web page! The person who set up the Web page screwed up!

It tells a little bit about the members of the company.

Our Team
Sri Reddy - Managing Member
Sri first co-launched the technology, healthcare, and retail equity research group Brigantine Advisors in 2008 with a group of veteran Wall Street analysts, institutional salespeople and trading partners such as Bloomberg, Morgan Stanley, StateStreet etc. Prior he worked in institutional sales at Merriman Capital and before that he worked as a research analyst at Barclays following the IT Services sector. Some of his focus companies included Accenture, Computer Sciences Corp, Electronic Data Systems, Sapient, Infosys and IBM.

As the #1 pick of the Washington Redskins (2nd overall) in the 2000 NFL draft, he was an immediate starter and earned three Pro Bowl and All-Pro selections (2001, 2002, 2003). Mr. Arrington was also the first pro athlete signed to UnderArmour's (NYSE: UA) platform by founder & CEO Kevin Plank. In 2006, LaVar departed his beloved Redskins and signed with the New York Giants where he

Eric brings a unique experience to our platform having worked on both the buy and sell sides of the industry. Prior to his position at BA Research Mr. Turner worked in the asset management division of Prudential Financial (NYSE: PRU). He has also held similar roles at HSBC and Lehman Brothers.

LaVar Arrington and Sri Reddy actually work for XTreme Procision - a company that Arrington founded - it's mentioned on the BA Research, but I can't find anything else about Arrington working at BA Research.

LAVAR ARRINGTON - FOUNDER AND CHAIRMAN

LaVar is known as one of the most celebrated and hardest hitting linebackers in the history of the National Football League. SRI REDDY - CEO

Sri joined XP in early 2015. For the past two years he was consulting with the company's founder on the build out of the XP technology platform.

Sri founded the technology and healthcare equity research firm Brigantine Advisors in 2008 which ultimately was acquired by National Holdings (Nasdaq: NHLD) in 2011. Prior he worked in institutional sales at Merriman Capital and before that he worked as a research analyst at Lehman Brothers. Some of his focus companies included Accenture, Computer Sciences, Electronic Data Systems, Sapient, Infosys, and IBM.

Frank Porcelli is still at Cowen.

Eric Turner? He actually works at BA Research according to Bloomberg! Wow! They list the headquarters as 102 Spruce Street in Princeton, NJ, which is a house - it's a house in a completely residential area. Not an office building in sight.

It looks like the "report" was released on October 20th; linked from the Twitter page, but you have to register to get the report, which is why JAMN made it available.

https://twitter.com/research_BAR

And almost all of their tweets then have been about coffee.

So a company supposedly formed in 2008 only started tweeting a couple of weeks ago, almost all about coffee. Their Web page was only registered a month ago, about the time of their first tweet, which also had a link to a research report.

And none of you guys who like JAMN will call them out on this.

You know I just read this again

http://investor.marleycoffee.com/Bar-Advistory-Research-JAMN-10.12.15.pdf

It doesn't say "advisory", it says "advistory". So either it's a silly type by either BA Research, or JAMN people mistyped the filename (which is silly since BA Research should have just provided a named file) or someone was being clever with "advi story" - it's an advertised story.

BTW, I did some more research on BAR Advisory Research. It didn't make much sense; a company comes out of nowhere; they had no Web site before October, and they publish a research report about a tiny OTC stock.

http://www.ba-research.co/

Their Web site isn't even a ".com", for crying out loud.

So I did a little research.
Sri Reddy - Director
Sri first co-launched the technology, healthcare, and retail equity research group Brigantine Advisors in 2008 with a group of veteran Wall Street analysts

Brigantine Advisors. BA. BA Research. BAR.

and I find this story

http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20120217005827/en/Brigantine-Advisors-Joins-National-Securities-Corporation

Brigantine Advisors (a division of Fagenson & Co., Inc., a fifty year old NYSE Member Firm and Investment Bank) announced today that its research and sales team will be joining National Securities Corporation. Founded in 1947, National Securities Corporation has registered representatives located throughout the United States and has evolved into one of the country's largest independent broker-dealers.

and it gives the URL

http://www.brigantineadvisors.com

but if you click on that link it redirects here because as mentioned above, they were bought out by National Securities.

http://nationalsecurities.com/

On the Web page, it says that BAR Advisory Research was founded in 2008 - but that's the same year that Brigantine Advisors was formed!

Still sounds fishy to me!
