this usually signals the beginning of the downfall of these scam companies, where potentially the SEC or DOJ has begun initial inquires into each of these companies and their controlling stockholders and officers/directors and the accounting firm just wants to get as far away as possible before the hammer falls....

and why is this not surprising?

because this is what happens to scam companies!

not surprising at all....also not surprising is the fact that another scam they run, RBCC, also had the same auditor resign (see today's 8-K for RBCC).
