It's not that unusual for people to have an attorney friend willing to help with a brief filing. I imagine that's what happened here.

I cannot really speak to the rest of your message, but Walled Lake is surrounded by manufacturing facilities, corporate offices, etc...It is not uncommon for people to drive and hour or so daily to work in Michigan.
