Visa may have hit a potential issue in European payment contract, says Evercore
Evercore ISI said European contacts indicate a potential in Visa's negotiations to get the Visa Europe deal done, which is suppose to close today. The firm said Visa Europe's owners want to retain Visa Europe's processing platform following the sale of Visa Europe to Visa Inc. and to use this platform potentially to build a third pan-European payments network. Although the firm has not spoken to Visa about this, they would be surprised if they would allow this to occur as part of their negotiated purchase of Visa Europe
