Small Molecule targeting of the cancer stem cell is the process of “coaxing” the cancer stem cell to turn into a normal cell. Regen has identified and filed patents on a novel gene controlling the process of cancer stem cell differentiation.
Objective is to identify small molecules that can induce differentiation of cancer stem cells
High through-put screening identified 7 “hit” compounds
Currently in pre-clinical development
Initial indication is treatment of myelodysplastic syndrome
Additional indications include solid tumors and acute leukemia
