Pretty simple to understand.

Saturday's game was scheduled for 4PM with a 2 PM start for Old Timer's day. That was a planned event for most who had tickets. Going to the Stadium that day would subject you to the rain and delays.

Then the game was rescheduled to Sunday Night; an unplanned event. Most people work on Mondays and found it hard justifying going to a late Sunday game. Also, there may have been other conflicts such as family events on Sunday for many who had tickets.

If you journeyed to the wet game on Saturday and waited for nothing, it would be hard to try the same thing the next day, Sunday, again raining. On top of that is the increased Sunday traffic, having to show up after a previous game, and limited sleep.
