Just so you and other Yankee fans know, I think most of you operate under a mistaken viewpoint of Ortiz.
Ortiz plays a very good first base, he doesn't play because of past injury/endurance issues, not because of his skill.
He has played a very good first base when he has had the opportunity for the Red Sox. He was stellar in the World Series and has no errors this year despite playing during interleague games.
Of course he doesn't have the range of Youk, but he is very capable.
