Except for the extra money, this should be a no-brainer for Hal Steinbrenner.

29 year old Ivan Nova or 31 year old David Price in 2016.

After trying to get the Reds interested in him at the trade deadline, there is a good chance the Yankees listen to offers on Ivan Nova this coming offseason.

He will be 29 next January, so that is a plus, as is the fact Nova won’t be a free agent until after the 2016 season and has one more year of being eligible for arbitration.
The downside is that in 17 starts after returning from Tommy John surgery, Nova finished with a 6-11 record, lost four straight and eight out of 10 decisions to end the year.
