#8457 RE: Consiglieri #8451

Blekko, I agree with you.

I do think their approach is costly. I am also aware of the concentrator patent Hysr holds and have speculated that it may come in to play at some point. That said, the fact that this other team managed such a high level of efficiency gives me pause and I can't help to wonder how much that plays is making it cost effective. Hysr has yet to reveal efficiency figures. However, from the recent PR and filings I am under impression that it isn't so much that they are working on a catalyst as much as they are working on the bonding, sealing, and proton transport mechanisms. With probably some tweaking of catalysts and PV prepping techniques. That other team seems to be using three distinct components : concentrator, PV cells, and electrochemical cells. The last two is what hysr is trying to merge into one unit... a PEC. That would be very nice on many levels and in the future I think that's where we want to go tech wise. But a good enough competitive system can take away some zeal from the PEC group. Or if by its very existence and attention bring more attention to all those in the field of solar to hydrogen or other fuels. It was just a link to more info of what's out there. I'm out of hysr after 2 years but still rooting for them... I just need more info and a better price to consider going back in at the moment.

For now I'm sitting in SLTD. They are making real progress financially speaking and are finally undervalued imho. I'll be waiting for hysr to do something like what they have to really pile in.

Good luck,

PJM
