A systemic anti-angiogenic treatment for AMD is a bad idea (no company other than GENR is pursing such an approach) and it will likely encounter considerable skepticism from the ophthalmic community.

I have to disagree with this statement. You fail to mention
how Macugen by Eye Tech was bought by pfizer.

I also work for a "learning" hospital and they are in favor of it here.

If you have wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD), it’s important to understand your treatment so that you, along with your doctor, can do everything possible to achieve the best outcome. In this Web site, you’ll find information on an innovative treatment for the wet form of AMD called MACUGEN (pegaptanib sodium injection). MACUGEN can help you preserve your vision by slowing vision loss.

I have been watching genr for a while now and thinking about getting in. In regards to enrollment in phase-3, what are your thoughts about the risk and side effects of lucentis over a long period of time and do you think the risk increases once a person starts treatment in both eyes. Also if a well known person (person in the spotlight such has an actor, vip, ect) or an alarming amount of people start suffering side effects and uses their spot light to inform people what can happen with lucentis, what effect would this have on evizon enrollment? Could this turn things around pretty quickly? Also I am concerned with lucentis because a lot of studies have shown conditions that cause heart disease also cause armd and have linked the two which takes them out of being a candidate for lucentis.
The fact that a systemic treatment can be done in a non specialist office verses lucentis needing the attention of specialist and more cost leads me to believe that the ophtalmic community won't see this as such a bad idea.

As far as genr being a quasi-legit scam, that is a pretty strong statement, and I'm wondering what leads you to believe this? Can you be clear and specific about the doubts you have concerning the legitimacy of this company?
