Jim: I was finally able to trace back the source of the 402,200 shares reported by Fidelity Contrafund. As I suspected, it was not a new purchase during the current quarter, since it was reported in Fidelity Contrafund's holdings as of Mar 31, 2006.

The following is from the quarterly schedule of holdings as of 31 March 2006 for Fidelity Contrafund management group. It lists the holdings for the group's Advisor New Insight funds and the Contrafund. IDCC holdings are listed under the Information Technology - Communications Equipment category,

.....Insight Funds.........34,000
.....Contrafund...........402,200 ( scroll about 3/4 of the way down)

In regard to the June 6 reporting date you mentioned, if you look at the Thomson report again, I think you will see that the dates in the upper left hand corner are actually a breakdown of the time frame that the data represents. For the data listed, 4% was as of 06/06, 94% as of 03/06, and 2% was other. This is logical as Thomson generates their data from published reports, and most of the current reports are as of the last reporting quarter. This would be 31 Mar for most companies/funds.

If they are smart, they should have added to their holdings during the current quarter.

olddog, I was told by a broker that this was a new position but I will check it out a little further.
