I don't know what the end of life for the pictured hornworms has in store in a normal sequence (other than the wasp egged one)
BUT
when I find them in my yard, or in a neighbor's yard, I pluck them from the plant and store them in an old minnow bucket dealie with some lettuce leaves and/or similar in heavy shade

along with catalpa worms when I can find them
AND
and then I go jug fishing for catfish at night on one of the local lakes...... gggggg
