Maybe, but imo this may just be a routine (and imo useless) patent application that possibly other companies are doing because their competitors are. I think it is silly and waste the US Patent office resources, but it happens I guess all too often. Nothing novel in that patent- no secret sauce etc or mysterious process/methodology revealed in this application- lots of info but otherwise boring beyond that.

Also, combining the patent with a drug, well that makes proprietary. :)
