The company is not late for changing auditors just before the Q is due.

They are late due to the fact that they materially misstated the prior report and need to amend it. They already filed the 8K Item 4.02 that the financial report cannot be relied upon and needs to be amended. The next Q cannot be prepared and reviewed until the prior report is amended.

They lied. Period.

Toxic financiers do not announce a default notice. And issuers such as Bob Chance will not announce it either, especially since he buried the note features in the periodic reports.
