I think this is an excellent post. My only discussion point would be how much MJFF has de-risked AVXL.
The reason being AMBS, which has an agreement with AVXL, received funding from MJFF for a couple of years. Everyone was excited for the same reasons you bring up here. When it was not continued further it was a big let down. For now, I am happy about the grant to AVXL but consider the other points to be of more de-risking value in terms of science and its progression. The money is important for continuing the science with less dilution. All IMO.
