I'm with you bro that is the common perception of the disease,almost humorous and portrayed as such however as it progresses it is not funny anymore,extremely debilitating and tragic. Painful for both the patient and carer that's for sure. It is one thing to not be able to remember, and another thing to not be able to talk and unable to move ones body,groan and moan cry and only have sleep for any relief.
