It may have, but board posts would probably have had little impact. If you go over to RB and check the MSFT board you can see numerous bashes today stating everything from MSFT never having had a good product to glee over Gates' departure since he would never be capable of starting up a successful company. The point being that you can read almost anything on a message board but to use it as an indicator is just plain looney. On the other hand, if you sift through what can be proven or supported by evidence (you have to do real DD as opposed to reading another board and calling it DD) then you might run across some useful starting points to run down and make decisions from.
