Hard to believe there are people like Manuel Asensio who actually believe there's nothing wrong with naked short selling. I wonder how he would feel if he purchased a car from a local dealership and after taking his money, the title to the car was given to him, but the actual car was never delivered. It's pretty much the same thing as far as I'm concerned.

I'm also surprised by Buffet's comments. Sure, he doesn't care if naked short selling is happening with his company's stock... it's trading at $90,000 and $3,000 per share. How much naked shorting is going to occur at those prices? I really thought a man of his standing and respect would recognize the negative effect it can have on young startup companies, even those that aren't frauds as he stated.

I hope we see a significant increase in the number of lawsuits targeting the short sellers and possibly even the SEC for non-enforcement of existing regulations. At least it would bring more of a spotlight on the problem.
