jimmy to discover minerals ..

you have to work hard and have some mineral knowledge. Urban did not do or have either. He is a P M .. People Miner. Lots of them around. That's why Big Shorty is stung so badly here. He thought Urban was just another clown .. not realizing that this was a 'sting' from day one. As for Saskatchewan .. it is a phenomanal Province for mineral potential .. including yet to be discovered oil and gas reserves. But the lazy Casavant family will never do it.

There are several possibilities:

1. Oil and gas - as yet, virtually unexplored Saskatchewan extension of the Athabasca Tar Sands in central NW. Lots of potential here as in conventional oil and gas in the south. Sask. is at the forefront of the CO2 injection method, which also contributes to reducing greenhouse gasses.
2. Uranium - Saskatchewan is the world's premier supplier. Unfortunately, all the easy ones have been found. There are a few "elephants" left in the Athabasca Basin, but they will be deep, and expensive to find.
3. Gold - Pretty much small potatoes in Sask. Not much of a chance of a giant porphyry-type deposit. The largest in Sask. is SeaBee, which may reach 1 million ounces over a 20-year span, but they're chasing narrow veins...not many of the big boys want to do that.
4. Base Metals - Still lots of potential in the east near Flin Flon.
5. Potash - Again, Sask. is a premier supplier. There is potential for a few more large deposits, although those too are deep.
6. Diamonds - There will always be a problem at FALC with low grades, aquifers, and depth of overburden. However, it will only take one mining operation for the floodgates to open (no pun intended). I give it a 50-50 chance.
