Very interesting. Thank you -

The transparent body 22, whether in the form of a single layer or a composite, can be a finished product. In another embodiment, a bezel or frame can be formed or placed around the transparent body 22 after a defect in the transparent body has been filled. In an embodiment, an injection molding technique can be use to form the frame. The transparent body 22 can be placed into a mould for injection molding. In a particular embodiment, liquid or molten metal can be injected into the mould and fill a cavity in the mould that is not occupied by the transparent body 22. The metal can be an alloy. In a more particular embodiment, the metal can be Liquidmetal Alloy™ (Liquidmetal Technologies of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., USA). In another embodiment, a thermoset or thermoplastic resin may be injected instead of the metal. In a further embodiment, a metal bezel or frame can be placed around the transparent body 22, and a thermoset or thermoplastic resin may be injected to fill a void between the metal bezel or frame and the transparent body 22.

Had never heard of Saint-Gobain, but they are certainly not small - worth a few bill (correction 26.8 Billion), along with a guy from there, now at Apple, with a heavy background in production. Good stuff. Thank you again. GL.

Every time I read the word "transparent" it takes me back several years ago to Owens Corning YouTube videos showing of the future with one being a transparent cell phone. But they are not the only one's...

What also just struck me is that they're in Europe with manufacturing operations in Germany and France. How would LQMT ever reach them? Anything is possible in terms of anyone from Hauck having contacts with them in Europe, but I really think it's Engel. Would love to know if they use Engel machines currently because Saint-Gobain is considered to be in business as a "manufacturer." For what it's worth, they do use Engel machines. GL

I went away for several days fishing and when i come back i see this amazing discovery posted regarding Saint Gobain, i have never heard about them before and here they are in Partnership with Apple (ex Gobain employee at Apple and a patent that refers directly to lqmt)

I wonder what other discoveries, that we all know nothing about, is yet to come out.

As always Gamesc, thanks for all your DD and posts.
