There is no reason that IDCC can't soon reach and then maintain the top rating for each of our analysts for the next several years with periodic upgrades of the associated 12 month target prices. (Actually, IDCC is already at the top of the Hilliard Lyons rating scale and has received one or more reaffirmations from Carpenter with corresponding increases in the target price.) IMO, had it not been for the understandable conservatism and abundance of caution in the analyst community brought about by the excesses of the 1990s, IDCC would have already achieved the top rating with our current analysts as well as several more.
I do think that the climb in stock price will be relatively steady from here, but will take significantly longer and with far fewer and less dramatic spikes than many of us predicted 3-4 years ago.
