What bothers me about all this "shipping reactors" talk is security.

I do not think it would be prudent, especially with the Asian propensity for disrespecting intellectual property rights, to make dots anywhere other than San Marcos.

Yes, QTMM has protective patents, but I believe they have many "trade secrets" which are not covered. And, they do not have a patent on quantum dots, just a process to make them.

So why would ANYONE increase the risk of a spy at some relatively unsupervised remote site stealing their methods and advantages by distributing facilities across the globe?

It is far easier to secure one central location.
