OT Count, but part of the reasoning behind Mr. Merritt's pay raise as per the 8-K:
"The decision also took account of independently compiled data provided to the Compensation Committee indicating that Mr. Merritt's base salary was below industry peers."
My thoughts are that this is NOT a guy we want to lose.
IMO, in six more months as Interdigital continues at improving shareholder value along with its many additional successes in licensing, Mr. Merritt will be actively sought by other firms. Additionally, his team will be the target of headhunters as well. Before we complain too loudly about compensation, let's not forget about market realities - good companies' personnel become targets.
Let's keep this team together - it's working well for the shareholders.
