Filing a provisional patent is hardly an EPIC event. If they are successful with the application then a year from now they can file a real patent application that could take 3 years or so to be approved or rejected. Thats how far away TMM is from having an actual real patent. Check back in 2020 to see if they got it.

I also do not see where TMM is putting this case to bed once and for all or at all for that matter. If anything it is going to get much more complicated with them serving HP any day now and both sides digging in for a long battle and trial in 2016.

I agree with 4retire that that big news we were promised long ago was likely a failed contract attempt. It seems inconceivable that any company would sign a contract with TMM while they are being sued for the technology ownership.

If that's the news we've all been waiting for, I know that I'm not the only one who will be disappointed. While I think it's really good that TMMI's team has developed a proprietary codec and have filed for a patent, to have a press release about this upcoming press release is really amatuerish. To me that's like having a press release about someone doing their job.

I just hope you're wrong in your summation of what the exciting news is going to be.

jay,
That would not be business development, that would be software or tech development or enhancement.
If that is the epic news, then poor choice of words.
