#157195 RE: The Count #157168

The Count .. I think he feels he is "owed" a great deal from IDCC for his past contributions and no one, other than him and his circle of management, has any right to comment. If someone saves my life, I owe them everything, but does that mean for the rest of my life I have to give him anything he asks for? Some say yes, but I don't agree.

With regard to your first comment, no matter what he has done, HC is NOT entitled to have his actions and decisions questioned only by his circle of management. The answer to your next question is absolutely not. Unfortunately, as a practical matter, HC feels strongly that your opinion and mine on these two issues are dead wrong and to make matters worse he is the COB at a time when things are going extremely well for the employees and shareholders of IDCC right now and that has not been the case for some time.

The management and the shareholders have a tough choice at this point since he didn't retire like some of us, including myself, predicted he would. Make a point to HC as a matter of principal or let it slide unless he gets overbearing and it is clear that he is a significant impediment to the maximization of shareholder value. I vote for the latter based on my experience in similar situations, but I do understand why some might want to push for the former.

Danny
