Loop, good point. All the hold-outs apparently need to think twice about the defense they would now use if dragged into court by IDCC. Maybe in the past their attorneys could reassure them that the courts will give them a free pass based on their belief that the patents were invalid, but if the courts are going to remove that safety net then the potential damages they would be liable for suddenly increase substantially, which in turn may create a motivation to settle up rather than using the courts to delay payment. I think the market is realizing that the balance of power may have shifted, making it more likely that some will now come to the table. Hence the share price movement today.
