Art, for whats its worth, my sources who work in the industry are in agreeance with Pup. They have told me that the respective oil companies that they work for would have drilled an exploratory well first, to gain as much information about the acreage as possible, it would be a throwaway well based solely for informational purposes. However, if the rumors flying around about the exploratory well are true, just imagine what they expect to find when they begin drilling in the sweet spots.

Sorry Fishdog, in my earlier post I meant to say that Oilphant stated that the off structure drill could have been an error.

Barry M., S. Freed and others have stated that this was probably done by design.

You and others have posted that with modern technology, the drill rig can drill with centimeters of their target.

Is Oilphant up on the modern technology? hmmm

At least there is consensus on the board today that Chevron under reported the oil that they found and/or know about in Block 1.
