Woody and his children

Pinza, you have struck a nerve. I discovered Woody in the 70's through the back door of Bob Dylan. Have seen Arlo in concert multiple times. Stopped and spent a day in Okemah, OK, where Woody spent some of his growing up years, on a trip across the country in 1973.

Great stuff-I particularly like the verse of This Land is My Land, the one that is never sung

As I was walking across this land
I say a sign, it said no trespassing
the other side it didn't say nothing
that side was made for you and me


ok, it could be a rural legend, but there it is :).

Actually Billy Bragg & Wilco's 2 albums of unrecorded Guthrie music sold very well on college campuses and the alternative music scene. Dylan did a lot to remind America of Woody Guthrie. Woody the voice of an America I love.
I hope Apple will put more of the Smithsonian's music collection online, as well as the Library of Congress collection.
