The Brewers scored their final run in comical fashion. With one out in the top of ninth, Logan Schafer hit a routine grounder to shortstop Starlin Castro. He bounced the throw to first base, and the ball got past Rizzo and hit the rolled-up tarp.
Rather than hustle, Rizzo jogged after the ball while Schafer never slowed down. As Schafer arrived at third, Rizzo airmailed a throw in that general vicinity that no one caught, and Schafer came in to score to make it 6-1.
