Competitor pricing is close to Sentry.
Doing a google search for "back up power" as opposed to "Uninterrupted Power Supply/UPS", I noted that there seems to be far more dedicated electronic/testing/medical equipment UPS manufacturers than basic 120v 60hz AC back up such as Sentry.

The electronic controls for really "clean & stable" power and/or continuous "filtering" protection appears to be the difference between the two products along with battery/weight size. UPSes are generally smaller, more portable units with much less activated time availability than basic AC back up such as Sentry.

Of the Sentry type units; they were generally in the multi thousand dollar range and some makes were designed for individual appliances each; such as refrigerator/freezer only applications and some used a 48v battery. Additional 48v batteries could be purchased for around $400 bucks or so and apparently used as swap-out replacements for these one appliance/one battery units for added runtime.

American Power Conversion was one site with ALL these types of UPS and AC backups presented.

So..........if one wants a back up unit where a generator is not allowed..........the premium goes up, big time.
Maybe Sentry can carve out a niche with PTI batteries over time that will finally provide some REVENUE accreation.

I guess we're waiting for next month then friends.

I know some upper end housing types and they have gas (propane) generators in the 10k to 15K range integrated right into the electric of their homes... Auto on when power is disrupted for around 4-5 thousand installed...

I think the market is more solar systems, cars, golf carts ETC...
