Marijuana is totally safe. That website you posted is pure nonsense. There has never been one documented death from an overdoes of marijuana. Heck if you drink too much water you can die. It has dozens of medicinal benefits and it doesn't have to be so expensive. It grows wild for goodness sakes... it's a plant put on this earth by God. It actually saves lives when used for medicinal purposes unlike alcohol which actually does cause people to become violent. Marijuana does the exact opposite, it sedates and relaxes you. Like anything else it can be abused but it is not addictive.

1. That site you posted is full of shit.

2. EBT cards can be used in any atm, which is the problem, the dispensaries are not the problem.

Marijuana has WAY more benefits than negatives. It is WAY safer than alcohol...

Marijuana is 'significantly' SAFER than thought

Cannabis is 114 times LESS deadly than alcohol, claims study

*Results were based on estimating the typical human intake of each drug

*Scientists then combined that figure with what constitutes a lethal dose

*Alcohol was the deadliest drug, followed by heroin, cocaine and tobacco

*Researchers had previously said it is almost impossible for people who smoke large amounts of cannabis to overdose on the drug

Smoking marijuana is 114 times safer than drinking alcohol.

This is according to an international study which claims the plant may be 'significantly' less harmful than scientists believe.

On an individual level, the study found that alcohol was the deadliest drug when it comes to the likelihood of a person dying from a high dose.

The study found that alcohol was the deadliest drug when it comes to the likelihood of a person dying.

The next most deadly substances are heroin and cocaine, followed by tobacco, ecstasy, and methamphetamine.

The results of the study were based on estimating the typical human intake of each drug and combining that figure with the lethal dose.

'The results confirm that the risk of cannabis may have been overestimated in the past,' Professor Dirk Lachenmeier at the Chemical and Veterinary Research Office Karlsruhe wrote in Scientific Reports.

'At least for the endpoint of mortality, the [margin of exposure] for THC/cannabis in both individual and population-based assessments would be above safety thresholds.

'In contrast, the risk of alcohol may have been commonly underestimated.'

Overall, the study found that smoking marijuana is 114 times safer than drinking alcohol. Marijuana legalisation supporters have used the study to suggest that existing bans on the drug are misguided

Cannabis was the only drug in the study that posed a 'low' mortality risk, with most users using less than 1/150th of the amount that would kill them.

Last year Wayne Hall of the World Health Organisation said it's nearly impossible for even those who smoke large amounts of cannabis to overdose on the drug.

'The estimated fatal dose [of THC, the primary active compound in marijuana] in humans derived from animal studies is between 15 and 70 grams,' Hall wrote in the Washington Post.

'This is a far greater amount of cannabis that even a very heavy cannabis user could use in a day.'

Marijuana legalisation supporters have used the study to suggest that existing bans on the drug are misguided. The authors of the report also seem to share this view.

'Currently, the MOE results point to risk management prioritisation towards alcohol and tobacco rather than illicit drugs,' the study reads.

'The high MOE values of cannabis, which are in a low-risk range, suggest a strict legal regulatory approach rather than the current prohibition approach.'

WHY DO CANNABIS USERS SOMETIMES HAVE DIFFICULTY SPEAKING?

Motor neurons (pictured) are nerve cells found in the cerebral cortex of the brain stem, and are responsible for giving orders to muscles

Marijuana users can sometimes have difficulty speaking, breathing and swallowing food as a result of muscle weakness.

Now researchers in Spain have conducted a landmark study to shed light on how marijuana reduces the activity of motor neurons that lead to these symptoms.

Motor neurons are nerve cells found in the cerebral cortex of the brain stem, and are responsible for giving orders to muscles in the body.

Researchers at the University of Cadiz, led by Professor Bernardo Moreno, used synthetic analogues of the psychoactive compounds of marijuana to see how they affected these neurons.

They looked, in particular, at movements of the tongue and how they responded to the drug.

'During the investigation, we used an animal model in which we studied the alterations produced by synthetic cannabinoids on the activity of the motor neurons,' the researchers wrote.

'In doing so, we discovered that these psychoactive compounds inhibit the information that reaches these neurons via the synapses.

'In other words, cannabinoids hinder the transmission of information between neurons.'

All of this could lead to problems speaking, breathing and swallowing food.

1- People get the drugs anyway, always have, always will.

2- Anybody who used pot as gateway drug would have ended up there anyway, it is a personality problem/weakness.

3- Up until 4-years ago I had smoked pot damn near daily since I was 13-years. I have never seen anybody get violent on pot as say alcohol users.

5- In almost all pot accidents the people were on others drugs, it just never gets investigated or reported.

6- The cost of pot will drop dramatically when it is legal; here Portland an once of chronic goes for about 200.00; the price of a cheaper pair of Nikes.

7- Take the illegality of drugs and inclination to use will fall dramatically; it is the old forbidden and cool factor.

8- A huge amount of money, time, and lives are lost to the war on drugs; a war we have not won and never will win - yet the cartel/gangsters get more and more powerful.

Again, prohibition is huge and powerful lesson history taught US that is for the most part being ignored.

I sure would like to know who is behind this website, because they are wrong and outright liars. This looks like yet another Scientology or other cult brain-washing program.

Read the comment there, very enlightening.
